USEA Event Tests

Entry Requirements:
- Entry fee for all Classes is $20.
- Rider must be a member in good standing of DVCTA.
- Horse must have a current negative Coggins within 12 months of show
entered. Coggins then will be placed on file for the 2007 show year. Due
to change in Schooling Show Management all Coggins must be resubmitted
to Schooling Show Manager.
- Members may ride two dressage tests per horse of the same or
adjacent levels
- Members may enter two horses (same rider for both horses).
Prioritize which horse will show and which horse will be on the wait
list. If show is not full second choice horse will be scheduled in order
of postmark and complete entry.
- Entries open the Wednesday 2 1/2 weeks before the show. Refer to the
schedule for opening and closing dates of individual shows. Entries may
be post marked on, but not before the opening date. Entries received
after closing date will be placed on a waiting list and will be charged
a $10.00 late fee.
- If show is oversubscribed, entries will be taken in order of
postmark of complete entry.
- If scratched by 9 PM of closing date, you will get a full refund.
- If scratched after closing date, refunds only if your spot
can be filled from the wait list.
Times: Will be mailed and posted on the web site (www.dvcta.org)
one week prior to the show date.

Dress/Equipment: Riders should be neat and workmanlike.
Coats/braiding not required. Horses may wear boots and/or bandages and a
whip may be carried. All tests including FEI levels may be read. With the
exceptions noted above, all USEF rules apply.
Safety: Riders must wear hard hats at all times when mounted.
Juniors must wear harness helmets, with the chin harness fastened.
Non-competition horses: Horses not in competition may be brought to
a show (excluding April and Championships) for schooling purposes but
their riders must have sent in a signed release and negative Coggins by
the closing date. Non-competition horses causing problems may be asked
to leave the grounds.
ANNUAL
PERFORMANCE AWARDS
Annual awards for DVCTA members will be given in four major areas: DVCTA
schooling shows and DVCTA sanctioned shows, USEF/USDF recognized dressage
shows, USEA recognized horse trials, and unrecognized horse trials.
Champion and Reserve Champion will be given in all categories. The year
for the awards will be the calendar year, January 1 through December 31.
The awards are announced in January and presented at the DVCTA Annual
Meeting and Awards Dinner in February.
Eligibility Criteria
All riders must be DVCTA members and have served 8 hours of volunteer
work at any DVCTA activity. A horse may have only one rider. Horse and
rider may not have BOTH competed, either as a team or separately, at any
show or event that is two levels above the level of the award. Horse/rider
combinations may qualify at more than one level, but are eligible for an
award at only one level. Champions at a level are ineligible for that
award or a lower award in subsequent years.
Year End Awards for DVCTA Schooling Shows and Sanctioned Shows
Awards will be offered in the following levels: Training, First, Second,
Third, Fourth, and each of the FEI levels.
Horse/rider combinations must have 3 tests from different judges with
minimum scores of 55%, and at least one of the qualifying tests must be
Test 2 or higher in that level. At least one of the tests must be from a
DVCTA schooling show. Tests will be accepted from officially sanctioned
schooling shows, and the rider is responsible for submitting sanctioned
show results to Elizabeth Bradfield with DVCTA Rider Score Forms. Sanctioned
Show forms must be submitted by December 1 of the show year. The three
tests will be averaged and Champion and Reserve awards given.
Andy Gilbert Memorial Trophy: High-score award for a horse
in its first year competing at training level.
Sanctioned Show Champion and Reserve: This is not a year end
award, but at each sanctioned show, a high score champion and reserve will
be awarded to DVCTA members.
Year End Awards for USEF/USDF Recognized Shows
Awards will be offered at all levels, and each level will contain the
following categories: Adult Amateur, Junior, Masters, and Professional.
Horse/rider combinations must submit 6 tests from at least 3 different
judges with minimum scores of 55%. Riders are responsible for submitting
results to Elizabeth Bradfield, 211 Valley View Road, Media, PA 19063
Year End Awards for USAE Recognized and Unrecognized Horse Trials
Awards will be offered at all levels, and each level will contain the
following categories: Adult Amateur, Junior, Masters, and Professional.
Horse/rider combinations must submit 4 competition results, including
placing and final score for each event. Riders are responsible for
submitting results to Elizabeth Bradfield, 211 Valley View Road, Media, PA
19063
Championship Show
Classes will be offered at Training, First, Second, Third, Fourth, and FEI.
Championship tests will be Training 3, First 3, Second 3, Third 2, Fourth
2, and FEI Test of Choice. To qualify, a horse/rider combination must have
three tests at the level from different judges with minimum scores of 50%
and a minimum average of 55% for Training, First, and Second levels.
Third, Fourth and FEI levels are required to have two tests meeting the
same percentages. FEI must qualify with the same test to be ridden at the
Championship. All levels must have at least one test from a DVCTA
Schooling Show, but may also submit tests from the DVCTA sanctioned shows.
All tests must be ridden from memory and dress is as for a recognized
show. No whips permitted. The Qualifying period is October of previous
year through September show of current year. Riders will be notified of
qualification in October. Horse/rider combinations may qualify at more
than one level, but may only compete at a single level. A horse may only
have one rider. Except for FEI, previous winners are ineligible to compete
at that level or lower.
