Approved Schooling Shows
DVCTA has sanctioned schooling shows at the following seven farms in lieu of holding separate schooling shows: Bally Vae Farm, Blue Goose Stable, DunMovin Farm, Line It Up Farm, On the Bit Equestrian Center, Rolling Hills Ranch, Second Nature Farm, Silver Fern Farm, and Thornridge Manor, LLC. Requirements for Hosting a DVCTA Approved Show
(and having it listed on DVCTA website)
DVCTA Sanctioned Schooling Show Application
- Manager / Farm Owner must be DVCTA member. (Please check your membership status!)
- Dressage show competition arenas must be on sand, fiber, rubber or other equestrian footing, not grass. The warmup must be adequate and on footing, not grass, and ideally should be same footing as the competition ring. For combined training and horse trials dressage, the competition arena may be on level, groomed turf but footing is preferred.
- Dressage show tests (ie not HT or CT) must be ridden in large ring, i.e. a standard dressage arena of 20 meters by 60 meters (66 feet by 197 feet).
- Use of a modified arena is permitted only when the dimensions of the arena to be used are clearly specified in the prize list. When a modified arena is used, it must not be shortened more than five meters in length or more than two meters in width. Freestyle classes must be held in an unmodified standard size arena.
- Agree to hire a CURRENT L grad/L grad with distinction or CURRENT USEF Licensed DRESSAGE judge? (L grad/L grad with distinction must be on USDF website list, Licensed judge must be on USDF website list.)
- Test results must be posted online (on the farm’s own site) promptly after show and remain available through end of year for awards verification.
- Show must accept DVCTA volunteers and provide summary of volunteer hours to volunteer chair at volunteers@dvcta.org. (DVCTA volunteers are responsible for notifying them that they expect credit.)
